IST scoretable?
Hey, I'm in the middle of my recruiting process for the corps, and I've found a PFT scoretable, but I was wondering if anyone had one for the IST.. I'm trying to max this out, but I can't find out what will get you what.
A rough idea of what I should work for would be just as welcome. Thanks, -Luke |

Re: IST scoretable?
The IST doesnt matter in any way except that you pass...I'm not sure how they're running it now, but I think it was max pull ups, like 50 crunches and a 1.5 mile run when I went through a couple years ago.
You're better off getting ready for your PFTs, so train to be able to do at least 20 pull ups, 100 crunches in 2 min. and run 3 miles in under 18min. A 300 PFT will hook you up when you're trying to pick up Corporal or Sergeant one day, and it doesn't hurt when you're on a meritorious board for any rank. -"Tom Hanks" |

Re: IST scoretable?
Oh yeah? I had no idea that it didn't count for anything.
Thanks a lot for the reply sir, bit of a load off there. Just one other thing though. I've been hard pressed to find a Marine to get advice from. In preparation for basic, what kind of daily workout would be advisable? |

Re: IST scoretable?
I'd concentrate on what counts....it's as easy as doing the exercizes on your own or with a partner and building up your speed and endurance. You may want to try to pack on a few more pounds of muscle...even guys with very small percentages of body fat get smaller while they're there.
