Planning a reunion
Can't stand seeing an empty thread, so I am puting this here.
I am in the process of finding as many guys from my company in Vietnam as I can. So far with some help from a couple of other guys I have located 16 people. We are wanting to have a reunion next spring or summer. It really is fun trying to track down people you haven't seen in 35 years -Ken |

Re: Planning a reunion
66MP1 you are so right, locating men that we served with thanks to the internet is outstanding.
I spent years posting on my 4th Division site looking for a, b,c etc and to have results blew my mind. When I left NAM like your self I am sure, some people's names just stayed with you and searching thru photo's I had allowed me to add names to some and know who others where but could not place the names. I was able to locate my squad leader who saved my life in NAM, visit him in Plymouth Wisconsin, call him every month, every military holiday, his birthday after that only to loose him 3 years after locating him....Haunts me I could not save his life. I was able to locate my best buddie, had his photo;'s, knew his nickname, for some reason could not remember his name, located and visited with quit a few times already. I was able to locate the where abouts of a brother who died in NAM, his son who was born 2 weeks prior to his death..that was a promise I made to Wayne as I placed him in the body bag. Others I also got in touch with thanks to the net. In 2000 we had our first reunion in Chatanooga Tn. 18 of us and our wives..no words can discribe how it felt, just awesome..like we never were apart. And I just got back last month from another reunion... So good luck... |

Re: Planning a reunion
Mike,
I have located my old 1st Sgt and we got together last summer in Alabama, I met up with another Sgt while he was on vacation here in NC. I have talked on the phone with several guys that I haven't seen in over 35 years and we have had some great conversations. I can't wait until we can get together. Everybody is looking forward to it. -Ken |
