Just in time for national nurses week author of A poetry of a book of my visions and dreams Drea Horton presents to you Her stars and stripes, a nurses diary. Some people are braced and ready to hear stories of what goes on behind the brick walls of the V.A.. Tales of mistreatment of the patients and staff; is what some want to hear. "This book is far from that. It is humanity at it's best" Drea says. Drea will take you to the bedsides of soldiers and veterans while offering you glimpse of positive nurse patient relationships. Her personal version of a nurses diary.
"Ti's not a book of negative exposure of the care that we offer to our soldiers and to our veterans. It is a peak at what happens when our heroes return home. It is a peak at what nurses really do; how hard they work and care for our hero and civilian patients alike" she smiles and say. Drea gives recognition to the art of nursing along with the struggles and rewards that it offers. "National nurses week is coming upon us again soon and I would like to pay tribute to my fellow nurses whom are under paid and hardly recognized" says Drea.
She takes you on a journey; giving you a nursing tour from nursing school to long term care to ICU in many of her inserts. She offers her diary in script for all to enjoy. A book that every nurse should have on her book shelf. Drea will make you laugh, pray and cry as she offers her stories to you in fiction of true life in a poetic twist. She dedicates her book to all the US soldiers and veterans and to all of her nursing colleagues through out the world. You can find her book at
