BS Spam Email: 1st Armored Division in Iraq

I received this BS email as part of my daily spam mail ( would love to reach out and choke someone). This is a new topic now so wanted to share it with all of you to be on the look out. I did report it to the phishing people and also the US authorities.

My name is Adams Smith, I am an American soldier, I am serving in the military of the 1st Armored Division in Iraq, as you know we are being attacked by insurgents everyday and car bombs. We managed to move funds belonging to Saddam Hussein’s family. The total amount is US$25 Million dollars in cash, mostly 100 dollar bills. We want to move this money to you, so that you may invest it for us and keep our share for banking.

We wil take 60%, my partner and I. You take the other 40%. No strings attached, just help us move it out of Iraq, Iraq is a war zone. We plan on using diplomatic courier and shipping the money out in one large silver box, using diplomatic immunity.

I've seen similar emails, all mentioning the diplomatic courier....this is the first one posing as a soldier....sad....some peole probably fall for it.

I got spammed by a creep who picked up my email address from legacy.com.
I had signed the book for CW4 Matthew Lourey. I usually don't leave my emaill addy, but this time I did. Some lowlife sent me an email saying that money was owed to Matthew (a very large sum) and that he was trying to contact Matthew's family and friends to distribute it to them.
I guess I wasn't the only one. Sadly, Matthew's tribute page has been taken down from the legacy site. He left us one year ago today.
