Telemarketers and Cell Phones
Anybody heard that telemarketers will have access to cell phone numbers and every call you get from them will be paid by the owner?

Re: Telemarketers and Cell Phones
This is the message I got:
JUST A REMINDER....19 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. ..YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS.... To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. Haven't called the number, but I dont plan on doing it with my phone. |

Re: Telemarketers and Cell Phones
an alternative way is to register your telephone number[s], home and cell on line at www.donotcall.gov
It takes like 2 seconds. You will receive an activation email for each number you register, which you must use to activate your do not call. You can register as many numbers or even numbers for your other family members. -SSGMIke.Ivy |

Re: Telemarketers and Cell Phones
That sounds a lot better than that other junk. The other message sounds like a ploy to get your phone number to charge overseas calls on. Thanks for the heads up Mike.

I agree it is becoming spam, this about the 3rd or 4th instance of it showing up in th e-mail box of someone I know. If you got it from a friend Rock, tell 'em to knock it the fuck off and stop passing you chain e-mails. I did the do not call registry thing just for the hell of it, Mike is right it was easy and painless. -Top |

The do not call registry is worth it - I did it, and now if a telemarketer does happen to call, just tell them you're on the do not call list - it's hilarious how fast they get off the phone

Re: Telemarketers and Cell Phones
Thanks guys. There are so many of these damn chain emails going around this office. Every time I get one I usually delete it automatically. These are usually sent out by people who buy the "good luck room deoderizing spray".

Re: Telemarketers and Cell Phones
They call my cell already. About 10 times a day I get two back to back calls from "Unavailable ID." If I pick it up, they wish to discuss great business opportunities with me in the junk bonds field with me. If I ignore it, they leave the max 10 min. voicemail message, filled with nothing but office background noise of course.
