The War of the World
Don't know if The War of the World has hit your screens on the History Channel but it's worth checking out if it does. It's a six part series produced and hosted by the conservative British historian Niall Ferguson. Ferguson's review of conflict in the 20th century is based on his premise that it wasn't nationalism that powered these conflicts, but empires and he summarises the century as being a single Hundred Years' War where the balance of power steadily moved away from the West towards the new empires of the East. I've only managed to watch the first two segments but based on what I've seen so far, I would recommend it.
