Race in Stratford Park (Bullock Creek invite)
Well I had another race today. My goal today was to get first and get a time of 16:47. But as you can tell, you can't win them all. I got second with a time of 17:05, I was a bit angry but I was still glad that my time improved from my last race. What is worse is that I broke my racing shoes for good and now need to buy new ones. The inserts that hold the spikes in place bent on me and it forced my spikes to a different angle. That then caused me to run off balance and I kept on kicking myself on accident. It really sucked bad.

the race is only 3.1 miles and the only type of obstacles you would encounter would be a steep hill. I am going to get into a five mile steeple chase soon though and that race has obstacles like hay bails and walls stuff like that. I am so excited for that one!

Re: Race in Stratford Park (Bullock Creek invite)
I ran cross country in HS. Our homne course was in the woods, and we actually had rocks and downed trees and a stream to cross. They held the Illinois State Championship there the third year our school existed. It was a shorter course than your 3.1 (2.5), but if you finished in under 18 you were doing good. For the State Meet, we added a half mile to it by runnig out of the woods and doing three quarters of a lap on the track around the football field.

I was a sprinter and pole vaulter - for me a long race was 400 yards
- never did have the wind to race over distance... |

I suffer in anything less than 3000m. I prefer long distance to sprinting any day.-Chief Muppet |
