Top Secret Clearance Question?
Hello everyone I'm new here glad I found this site I been roaming around for a while so I decided to register.Well I got a situation about Top Secret clearance I'm due to head to to RTC sometime in the first week of July and my rate of choice is Seals.I know for this rate there is a requirement for a TS clearance the thing that bothers me is that they go in depth in records and such and when I signed up for the Navy and went to meps my recruiter told me to lie about a couple things.First me going to court for a time I got into a fight and I got stabbed in the cheek(face) with a screwdriver I was the victim in the case and they decided to dismiss it .Another is going to the hospital in which the day I got stabbed I went to the hospital to get stitches which is not noticeable at all. Also have been employed in which I had a job for like 3 months and I quit on good terms due to school.the point I'm trying to reach is how bad is this gonna go for me because I really don't want nothing bad to happen since I just started out my life and decided to take the recruiter advice since they are the ones who are preparing me...Any advice would be good....Thanks in advance and again I'm new here so its nice to meet all of you.

Re: Top Secret Clearance Question?
It's been a few years since I've been at MEPS or dealt with any of this, but none of those things sound like deal breakers to me. What WOULD be a problem is you not disclosing something and then them finding it out on their own.
I suspect the recruiter is telling you not to mention them because they will require explanation and documentation on his part and yours. When a recruiter tells you to lie, it's generally for his benefit, not yours. |
