hey Marines, quick question about PLC
Alright, I'm in college right now and a Lance Corporal in the USMCR, 0311.
I'll be a Junior in college by Christmas, so my question is: How do I sign up for PLC? I want to do it this summer. thanks! urban sheriff |

Re: hey Marines, quick question about PLC
You will also need to speak with an OSO (Officer Selection Office -- basically recruiters for officers)... but anything that you sign up for will need to be coordinated through your reserve unit.

Re: hey Marines, quick question about PLC
Thanks a lot guys. I figured I'd have to clear it with I&I, but I wanted to get as much information as I could before going in with no information.
Will I&I set up an appointment with an OSO for me? |

Re: hey Marines, quick question about PLC
Maybe -- but it may pay to contact the OSO anyway. Chances are this is a higher priority for you than it is for them. So, when you contact the OSO, tell them your current status first thing and be sure to ID both your reserve unit commander and the I&I staff POC. You don't want anything to come out later as a surprise. If the OSO needs you to go to the I&I first, they'll tell you.
Also, be aware that you're goal is OCS - Officer Candidate School - and that PLC is just one of the programs there. Chances are, you'll be looking at what is called PLC Combined, which is, I believe, a 10 week program specifically for college juniors to go to the summer before their senior year. |

Re: hey Marines, quick question about PLC
I'm A freshman and I applied for PLC directly through the closest OSO which the local Marine office hooked me up with
If you're already a Junior you'll be going through OCC the one summer 10 week OCS course before commissioning and going to TBS. God speed bro. |
