NROTC Scholarship Information
I have a question about applying for the NROTC Marine Option scholarship. I have taken the ACT but I am planning to take it again but I don't want to apply and then get a better score on the ACT and not have it on my application. So I have two questions:
1) If I apply with my existing ACT score, can I apply again with my updated score or, 2) Is it possible to update my score, once I have applied, on my existing application? Any help would be appreciated or if someone could tell me who I could contact to get this information. Either one would be great. |

Re: NROTC Scholarship Information
What's your timeframe? Are you currently a high school senior or junior?
When will you be taking the ACT again and what's the deadline for the NROTC scholarship application? Also, what college / colleges do you have in mind? We might be able to drum up some help specific to that school. |

Re: NROTC Scholarship Information
I am a senior in high school. I'm taking the ACT again in October but I wanted to get the application in as soon as possible so it has more chances to be looked at. The school I am looking to go to is the University of Kansas. I'm not sure when the exact deadline is but I know it is not to soon.

Re: NROTC Scholarship Information
I think I have the answer to this one. Retake your ACT then apply for the scholarship, however, if your score is lower than it was before you are just going to have to live with that. If worse comes to worse and you don't get the scholarship just go to college and you will be able to join the college program once you get there. If you do well enough with PT and your classes in the first semester you WILL be picked up on a scholarship. All you have to do is be a little better than average at PT and have around a 3.0 or 3.3 gpa your first semester in college. Don't worry, your ACT score isn't the end all for you chances to get into the program, over at the University of Michigan NROTC Battalion we have alot of guys get picked up by scholarship every semester just because they show us they want to be officers some day. Keep your head up.
