18X program

I'm not sure if the Army still offers the 18X program, where you can join the Army and once you been through basic, infantry training and ariborne school, you can go right into SF training. Does anyone know the first year they offered this program?

They still offer it, no idea when it began.

Last week someone mentioned they were in the program in 1984. So far that is the earliest I heard. My kids are currently in the program.
