Re: SFOD-D flash
okay first off SFOD-D stands for Special Forces Operational Detatchment-Delta, in other words Delta Force, which is different than 1st SFG (ABN), unless Delta falls under 1st group ( which it may, but i don't think so) then they have a different "flash".
But here is what the first groups flash looks like.. PS this flash is from 1964-present ![]() 1st SFG(A) Beret Flash -Flash |

Re: SFOD-D flash
No when a person completes their training to become a 13 letter tab (SF tabbed) wearer they get awarded the green beret, which by the way is a presidential award that was started by the president.

Re: SFOD-D flash
Not to question the guys service (I hate it when people do that to me) but he's a SSG in the Army can't he get these questions answered at work. Also, as a SSG he should have the resources to get the info himself. SR-25 got it and he's a teenager. I am just curious that's all.
Green Beret's are the Army Special Forces Delta force is a ("secret") CT unit within the Army SF community. As a general rule for me, if it doesn't come from a cite with a ".mil" or even ".org" ending I try to validate through other sources. That may be what he is trying to do, but I just want to know. -Rich |

Re: SFOD-D flash
My questions reflects both points of validating the info I already have and the fact that when one looks up info. on the SF one encounters the fact that they say that SFOD-D is one of the elite groups . Regarding their attire I is just a question of personal curiosity
