Manager rejects offer to take pay cut, leaves after 12 seasons at helm

NEW YORK - Joe Torre is out as manager of the New York Yankees, rejecting a substantial pay cut after the team failed to make it past the first round of the playoffs for the third straight year.

While Torre would have still been the highest paid coach in mlb - offering an incentive based contract for one year was an insult to a coach who has a record such as his... That was a hard thing to say - because I truly despise the Yankees and all that organization stands for...
