Memorial Day 2009

bFleet Week started today in NYC, there will be air shows, fireworks and
the city will be in "celebration mode" for the entire week.

We are proud to have our service members visit, and this year a lot of the
shows and comedy clubs have "Free Admission to Military Members and their Guests" up on their marquees. It makes me happy to see the people and businesses in this town show their appreciation to those who defend us.

Amid all of the festivities, we all need to take time (especially on Monday) to Honor the Sacrifices made by so many Americans who have exchanged all of their tomorrows for the Freedoms we cherish today.

Let’s remember that for our Gold Star Families, “every day is Memorial Day”.
I have some wonderful friends who are a part of this society. They didn’t choose to be, but by some twist of fate, it was their loved ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend these United States and protect their fellow countrymen. Let us always remember the high cost of our Freedom and the Heroes who have paid to maintain it. Say a prayer for all the families for whom there will always be an “empty seat at the table”, because they have sacrificed much more for our beloved nation than we can ever imagine.

God bless our Fallen Heroes, their loved ones and these UNITED States of America!
