Marine Academies
I was looking into alternatives to PLC. Just searching. What kind of Academies does the Marine Corps have? By Academies, I mean like "West Points." Also, whats the difference between an Academy like West Point and PLC? Does West Point have more military courses?
Thanks, Lamm |

Re: Marine Academies
If you want to be a Marine and go through an academy, you go through the naval academy, since the Marines are technically a branch of the Navy. Other fine institutions include Virginia Military Institute, and The Citadel, both of which have good Marine Corps ROTC programs, Also you might try applying for the NROTC Marine option scholarship, which gives you a list of acceptable Institutes and 4-year universities with Marine Corps ROTC programs. Ive also heard of a sort of "cram school" you can get into, and if you can hang in for two years you go to the Naval Academy, but im a little foggy on that one.

Re: Marine Academies
Definitely look into the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. It's a great place to go to school. You're sure to get an excellent education and the Corps program is awesome. Texas A&M is also one of the best schools for getting the most value out of your money.

Re: Marine Academies
I looked into Texas A&M, it doesn't have Criminal Justice or Criminology. Thats what I want, so I can't go there. Darn, I can't be with my fellow rednecks! lol.
Thats one bad thing about NRTOC, alot of the colleges, or almost all of them, don't have Criminal Justice, the Academies as well. Thanks for helping though. Lamm |

Re: Marine Academies
Depending on how moitvated you are, you can get your degree in something else say, POLY SCI, then once you get in the Corps go back to school for Criminal Justice. Just another option.
