Adopt a Marine....
So the track team at my school joined a program where we send stuff to soldiers in the middle east, being the team captain i made sure we got a marine, and they gave us a list of some basic stuff they could use, batteries, foot poweder etc, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, like maybie gear that is scarce over there and whatnot. I recieve several catalogues full of stuff we could order him, and we are raising money for that purpose via a donation box or whatever, and i challenged everyone to put in a dollar a week, considering our team is about 160 strong, money isnt a huge deal...So any suggestions????? Please help me out here guys.

Re: Adopt a Marine....
First and foremost make the connection with your Marine... Not everyone has the same situations. Discuss it with your contact (Marine) and listen to what they tell you. I have been involved with "adoptions" for a long time now. I have heard every comment out there but many say "why do they waste sending stuff I don't need?".
Make sure when you write or correspond with them that you include your email address. If they have easy access to a computer you will get your answers faster. -Julane |

My ex-husband was the mail clerk for our BSSG for the first gulf war~ They checked alright. BUT~ Many male mags that are borderline are allowed. FM, Maxim... Men love them, and they do not fall in the porn media... Don't know if y'all really want to waste that kind of money and have them confiscated, or give the guys that kind of distraction. |
