Boots Available for Women Marines

The United States Marine Corps announces the 28 female-specific sized boots introduced to the Corps in January 2005 are now available for special order through the Marine Corps Exchanges.

Female Marines may now visit their respective Exchanges and place orders for the footwear ranging in sizes 4 to 11. On-hand stock is also available in limited quantities at some Marine Corps Exchanges.

If the Marine Corps Exchange currently does not stock female sizes, please request the exchange to do so.

The boots will receive a boost in availability on July 1, 2005 when Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) will ship the footwear directly to MCRD Parris Island and Marine Corps Exchanges Corps wide.

The female boots, which meet the same standards of the currently issued male boots, are expected to reduce the majority of foot injuries in women Marines received from wearing ill-fitting boots.
