USMC Ring
Hi, not sure if this is the right place, but my friend is in the Marine Corps right now and I was wondering if it is ok if i wore a Marine Ring to show my support for him?
Thanks |

Re: USMC Ring
Personally, I have no issue with it. But I'm probably the least of the purists these days. To me, any public show of identification with and/or support for any of our armed forces is pretty ok.

Re: USMC Ring
Whatever you want to do / wear to show support for your friend is fine (ring, t-shirt, hat, etc).... just NEVER, EVER, pretend to be something that you are not. That means, don't claim to be a Marine. If anyone asks, state that you are showing support, and everything will be fine.

Re: USMC Ring
I'm in agreement with the majority...dont claim to be something your not. It also sounds as if you have a good foundation of Pride and Esprit De Corps, for truly there is no stronger bond than that of which is forged in service, and you will learn that even more so if you earn the title of MARINE! Obviously you have an understanding of the term Semper Fidelis-always faithful, wear the ring so that your buddy is not forgotten. I have a POW/MIA bracelet from a marine who was KIA(body not recovered), from the Vietnam war. He is a fellow Marine and as long as I wear it he is not forgotten.
