Right now I'm in AFJROTC. If I wans to join the Marines instead of Air Force would I still get the advance pay grade?

Yes you still get an advance in pay. 2 years in any JROTC gets you from a Private to a PFC when you join. I'm in Army JROTC right now, the closest school with Marine JROTC is like 10 miles away, it sucks.

Yes you will get that contract PFC. My cuzin is in NJROTC and he's going to get it. My school had it, but I just got my 2 referals and I got my mosquito wing. Any other questions?

supposidly you can get lcpl for 3 or more years in jrotc. again, supposidly. i'm not too willing to find out myself unless i can't get into a commisioning program and i enlist in the airforce or something.

I had 3 years AFJROTC and only got PFC (E-2). But then again, that was a few years ago.

I'm also considering taking afjrotc all through high school then doing the regular rotc in college i heard that that can get you a 2lt. is this true or just recruiting crap

it's true but it's quite alot of hoops to jump through. and back to the e-3 stuff, i read through the mcjrotc SOP (the old one i'm guessing since my MI said something about a new one) that you can get e-3 with 3 or more years in jrotc. dunno if it's actually followed though...

you have to ask yourself what you want, do you want to be an officer? or do you want to be enlisted? for officer you need to be commissioned somehow(ROTC/academy), for enlisted well, you need to enlist.

That 3 years or more for LCpl is bullshit. I had a couple of buddies of mine who also joined with me. They did MCJROTC for 4 years and only got PFC!!! So this scuttlebutt you were hearing has been busted. I feel like those dudes from myth busters when they bust a myth hehehehehehe

Unfortunately I started late with JROTC. I'm a junior right now and I just started, so I'm a Let 1 in 11th grade. If I was a senior I wouldn't have even done it, but since I can get two years in and go in as a PFC I'm fine with that.

Only problem is my ROTC is Army JROTC, so all I here every day is "HOOAH" or whatever their cheer is and Army talk. My first day of class I wore my USMC t-shirt, just so they know that I'm going to the Marines. OORAH!
