Question for the married guys

Did you take your wedding ring with you to OCS/Boot?

I took mine to boot, but I didn't wear it most of the time. Actually, I put in my pocket one day when we were going to PT, and it fell out. It has not been seen since.

OCS / Boot - it might be wise to leave it at home, or store it in your "money . valuable bag". It'll be fine at TBS or SOI, but you'll want to take it off when you run the O course or the confidence course -- for safety's sake. Same thing when/if you go on ship. I never wore my ring on ship after I saw a Marine fall on a ladder well and strip a big hunk of flesh off his ring finger when the wedding band caught on the rail.

Im not married, but if its important, better to not even risk losing it. I think a wife would probably be more angry if you lost the ring, as opposed to you leaving it at home.

Leave it off as a safety thing, but don't forget to tell your wife you're taking it off. If you want you can always wear it around your dog tags.

when i was in garrison I would wear it...but when was in the field I would not wear it..when I was in PT I would not wear it..etc.

I was leaning towards leaving it with my wife, but ya'll convinced me I was making the right decision.
