I'm Back
Hey all, just wanted to announce my return as a regular to the board.. I left Iraq in early October, got stuck at Camp Lejeune longer than I would have cared to, but am now at home on leave prior to demobilization. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things..

Re: I'm Back
Thank you, everyone, it's great to be back home. Spongie, to answer your question: It sucked overall, but that's kinda what you have to expect when you deploy. The working hours tended to be long, the weather was often unbearable, and the rules of engagement were more restrictive than I believe they should be. On the other hand, the quality of life at many of the bases is much better than I ever anticipated, and the experience gained was worth the trouble. I'm one of those "idealists" who still thinks the cause is right, so I'm proud to have done my part.
