USMCR Tuition Assistance
Upon me completing boot camp and MOS school, and reporting to my unit (USMCR), I am eligible to receive tuition assitance..$263/month, for 36 months, totally about $15,000. I'll use and need this as I will have around $20k in loans, for college. My question is, how does this work? Do they just give me the $263 straight up every month? Or do they give it to the college I'll be at?

You have to go through your training NCO and supply paperwork for your classes - thus proving that you are a student. You drop a class or fail a class, and you owe the money back.

They don't care what college you go to do they? As long as I provide my training NCO paperwork...?
