Retainers at basic

I leave to go to MCRD San Deigo on may 22 and i need to know if i can wear my orthodontic retainers or not. i would just need to wear them at night. my recruiter didnt quite know for sure but he thought i could have permanent retainers in and not removable ones. if anyone knows for sure, lemme know. thanks,

If you passed your physical and you have the green light to ship out from MEPS I wouldn't worry about it to much. Once you get to boot camp you will have a dental screening and they'll take care of you there. Oh yeah, as for if you can have them at MCRD San Diego, shortly after setting foot on the "Yellow Footprints" believe you me, you'll know if you can have them or not. Get Some out there Future Devil Dog!!!!!! Stay in the Fight!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I remember some guy that had a hand held pocket BASS fishing game. All I remember is hearing a Drill Instructor say, "What the fuck is this???? You're not going fishing here mother fucker!!!" hahahahahaha, I am guessing that was the last time he saw that. But they will take everything from you and tell you what you could keep.

Unless you hear from a solid source...like a currently working D.I., I'd suggest you take them with you, incase you are allowed to wear them but also take something sturdy to store them in, just in case you end up having to box em up.
