cutting Score

Well my score is a 1522 so I am getting ready to pin on Cpl soon. I'll just have to see what the score is for July.

What's you MOS? In mine, that would be a low score and depending on how many Marines are in you MOS, it could be a long wait.
Recruiters assistance will pump it quick!

I'd be surprised to see a 1522 composite score get you promoted.. Even the "easy" promoting MOS's seem to have cutting scores in at least the mid 16's. Good luck though.

Time in grade, Time in Service, PFT score, rifle score, swim qual, education (MCI's, college, Military Schools), pros and cons, fitness reports. I cannot remember how much each one counts, etc.

PFC and LCpl are gimmes with TIG/TIS. Promotion to Cpl is based on points awarded for TIG/TIS, rifle score, PFT score, MCI correspondence courses, and extra points for recruiter's assistance. Same goes for promotion to Sgt, although the points start all over.

Promotion to the SNCO ranks do not involve points.. It's a whole different process, based on selection..
