I got a 92 on the Asvab. 135 GT score.

Right now I'm really struggling with which path to take: Marine Infantry, or College to Marine Pilot.

Gee what a choice at opposing ends of the spectrum. Nothing like "Do I want to be a TOW Critter or do I want to carry a 28 pound mortar tube.

I am finally out of school, got my degrees and I am considering going into the service. You can always go in man, get your degree... have the Corp pay for it when you get out of college. That way you get better pay, more respect, and a better perspective on if you want to do this.

Sir, you would be surprised to learn that many 0311 types have degrees.
Including BAs. MAs. and the odd Ph.d.

They just like being grunts...as did I.

Well, for someone who isn't interested in that, what would be your guess of the chances of a high score on the ASVAB and holding a MBA give an OCS candidate on job placement or stationing?

First off it's Corps, not Corp and secondly good leaders earn respect as opposed to expecting it or demanding it.

The Corps will send you to what ever post best serves the needs of the Corps. The expected and proper response when this occurs is "Aye-aye sir or madam"

You can with in limits request an assignment but that is subject to the needs of the Corps.

As to an MBA, unless I was asked directly and unless things have changed a lot, I would keep that to my self, unless you want to end up in personnel or logistics.

I appreciate the insight of both you and batgirl. I am interested in personnel, not a recruiter though. Also, thanks for the corrections. I know some people on the outside think the branches are tense with rivalry, but especially seeing the respect being spread around at the MEPS, I can see I will truly enjoy my time, however long that is.

Marine NCOs and Staff NCOs make their impact on individuals, Marine Officers make their impact on the Institution.
