Hey...I made it! I'm a Marine! Graduated 2006 08 25. Good training; I learned a lot. I have one question, are we allowed to wear our MCMAP belt and jungle boots with civilian clothing? Thanks...

Re: Back
congrats!
I can't say I'm knowledgeable at all on USMC uniform regs, but speaking for Army there's nothing wrong with wearing the boots in civvies. -JR |

Welcome back and Congratulations MARINE!! Uhrahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
There isn't any reason why you can't wear those items that I know of. -Top |

And yes, you are allowed to wear those items with civilian clothing...but you automatically brand yourself a tacky retard if you do. Don't worry, devildog, your sense of style will come back someday - the brainwash wears off eventually! Wear civies when you want to wear civies. If you want to show your pride in being a Marine when out in town on boot leave, wear your dress blue deltas and you'll knock 'em dead (and probably get a few free meals and drinks while you're at it). -Jim |

Re: Back
Hey hey hey congrats motivator. I remember when I graduated bootcamp two years ago. I was so excited to get on this message board again and let everyone know. Keep your head up and your motivation up too. There will be times when you will find yourself doing shit you don't like in the Corps, but it evens out with all of the benefits that you get.
Oh and by the way, if you remember from your bootcamp knowledge, all uniform footwear is allowed with civilian attire. But that was made before the new boots came out. The boots have an EGA so that makes means that you can't wear them with civies. I was also told that the MCMAP belt is also not allowed. But you could wear your shiny anodized web belt. But just make sure you have an extra one if you do decide to wear it. And don't let the tip get scratched up. You gotta have the uniforms perfect for inspections. I still have mine in a sock! My Dress Blues belt buckle got all scratched up when I was on recruiter's assitance and I was going to buy a new one but I picked up Cpl so now I gotta buy the NCO one when I go home after this deployment. But yeah if you have any questions on what to do and what not to do just ask away we'll all gladly help you out |
