Asvab
I finally took my ASVAB and I have no idea why I was so worried. It was pretty easy for me. I got an 88 AFQT. It was really pretty cool. The National Guard recruiter set up a pretty nice presentation for all of us that took it at our school. Then he had a career finder set up for us. We simply filled in our likes and dislikes and it matched us to our top 5 careers. Guess what mine were.
1. Infantry Officer 2. Armored Vehicles Officer 3. Amphibious Assault Officer 4. Artillery and Missle Officer 5. Command Center Officer They didn't even ask if I wanted to join the military or ask questions related to the military and they came up with those as my top 5. I guess these tests know me better than I thought. -Garin |

Way to go Krahn! Good Work!
You got those choices with an 88? WOW! Must be the particular areas that you scored well in. I had a 112 GT on the test an got my choice of anything but computers. And what did I choose? Infantry. I even got mad that they made me a 41 instead of an 11. Just as long as they did not make me one of those Dragon Critters. |

Re: Asvab
Anyone can sit in a dark room and pull CAT-5 cable through walls, but it takes someone special to coordinated mortars, artillery, and air strikes while directing maneuver units, and shifting bases of fire, in the rain, in the dark, with no sleep with some colonel on the radio asking “SITREP!, SITREP! What’s going on?” every 15 seconds.
Good job Krahn! |

*stand by for bragging* For instance, my AFQT was a 99, but my GT is a 135, and my other line scores are 137 and 139 or something. -Jim |
