Update
Howdy everyone,
I figured I'd check in and give everyone an update on what I'm doing. I'm still in the School of Infantry. I graduate June 26. Training is fun, hard at times, but when we get to do some of the stuff we do, it pays off. Last week we were in the field the whole week, while the weapons got to eat chow hall food and sleep in their nice little beds. lol, the '11's and the weapons always go at it about that. We did SAW rushes, shot the M203 and did some shoots with the M-16. Next week I think we're going on the Alpha shelf and setting up the defense and offense. One part I heard about that is our Instructors will be held up in fighting holes and we have to attack them, and we're all going to have paintball rounds. Looks to me like some Pvt's and Pfc's are going to be messed up. lol Also, the other day for PT we did Pugil Sticks. Now, who ever said a short guy can't mess some one up, I did, he was 6 feet tall too. lol Needless to say, I made my NCO's happy. Take care. Oorah and Semper Fidelis |

Thanks for the update PFC Lamm.
Sounds as though you guys are having way too much fun. I'll bet you are looking forward to attacking the instructors...especially some of them:-). -Pat |

Re: Update
Hopefully someday I'll be going through that awesomness. They let you use the internet at infantry camp? Hmmm, you learn something new everyday I guess. Keep it up man, tell me how it goes.

Re: Update
Another update. I graduate on the 26th. I'm going to 1/6 Camp Lejeune. We were told they just got back from Iraq, Ramadi is where they operate, and so when we get there they'll probably be on post-deployment leave or getting to ready to go on leave. So we'll have working parties until they get back. The reason we're going on the East Coast is I guess SOI East skipped a cycle to train some sailors, and I guess they need Marines over in the unit. We've been told that we might go to Iraq in the next 8-12 months, or go to Okinawa, or even a MED Float. So, we'll see what happens. I'm pretty excited though. Next week we have BSRE, which is a combination of everything we've learned so far, all in one exercise, plus the 20K. Oorah.

Re: Update
I graduated today. I'm at the USO in San Diego airport waiting for my flght to North Carolina, it leaves at 2000. Good feeling, I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time. I just can't wait to see whats going to happen.

Re: Update
Seconc day here, everything is going good so far, just processing. My unit is doing a big work up, so even when we finish processing, I think we'll be on down time for another two weeks or so because we got another boot drop here in 2 weeks, from what I've been told. My unit is hopping on a Medfloat in Febuary, which is suppose to go to Italy, Spain, Greece, etc, and supposedly end up in Iraq. I'm in B Co which is Amphibious. A is Humvees and C is Helos. I'm sweatin' like a dog every where I go, but I'm starting to get used to it. Its a lot nicer than Camp Pendleton though, there's actually grass, and its green, reminds me of back home in Oregon. And when we get off work I go a |
