Two killed at N.C. football tailgate party

Two men were killed outside Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C., at a Saturday tailgate party before North Carolina State University's football opener.

Kevin McCann, of Chicago, and Brett Johnson Harmon, a U.S. Marine from Park Ridge, Ill., both 23, were fatally shot.

Brothers Tony Harold Johnson and Timothy Wayne Johnson, a student at NCSU, were arrested Saturday night, reported the Raleigh News and Observer.

Police cordoned off entire rows of cars, sport utility vehicles, pickups and trailers towing grills as investigators canvassed for witnesses.

The shootings happened shortly after the 6 p.m. kickoff of the NCSU game, which drew a sellout crowd of 55,600. The newspaper said many people at the adjacent fairgrounds were still tailgating when the shootings occurred.

Witnesses a fight in the parking lot before the game preceded the shootings.
