I am not, nor have I ever been a fan of 60 Minutes on CBS (or Dan Rather for that matter)... but:
8:00 PM Eastern Time, Wednesday 26 January 2005, 60 Minutes will be doing a feature on the 24th MEU and their role in Iraq. Following are the programming notes:
Quote:
The 24th MEU has been hunting criminals, thugs, bandits and terrorists in an area south of Baghdad known as the "Triangle of Death." 60 Minutes Wednesday takes a look at who these "insurgents" are and why the Marines believe they have them on the run. The story explores how the MEU has been trying to control the enemy in an effort to make the area safe for the upcoming election. It also examines why the Marines are growing increasingly confident in the Iraqi security forces, led by the elite Hilla SWAT team.
