sidearms
I was watching the new Sherlock Holmes..it is set in 2012.
In one story, Holmes pulls Watson's service pistol, a 9mm Browning on the bad guy. So, I was wondering are British officers still allowed to keep their sidearms when they leave the service as their fathers were? karl |

Re: sidearms
Karl - That's a good question. Last century when I lived in the I
UK, sidearms of any sort were illegal. And just like NYC, everyone knew where you could get your hands on one. -Old Don |

Re: sidearms
Weapons are NOT kept once one leaves HM Forces. On each different posting, individual weapons are signed back into the Armoury.
How if one is talking about retaining a "tophy of war" (Bearing in mind that this series' Dr. Watson served in Afghanistan) that is a totally different subject ( and very very naughty!) -Doc |
