"We hold the high ground." Eagles held the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Washington Monument, and all points in between. The protestors were relegated to a small patch north of and below the Lincoln Memorial on the other side of Constitution Ave. from the Mall.

Counterpoint. The Park Service estimated at the end of the day there were over 30,000 of us, and 5 to 10 thousand protestors. Remember that they prepared for a year and had celebrity involvement. We were a bunch of nobodies who got the word out in six weeks.

These next pictures were the best place to be all day. Veterans and supporters lined up across the street from where the protestors gathered and let them know what they thought. The line from the anti-America stage is that everyone who showed up was just a stooge of the Bush administration. As if somehow we were put up to it.




Throwing down the gauntlet - the police kept the two groups separate for most of the day, but as they marched down the sidewalks of Constitution Ave., veterans were one deep on either side for the protesters to march through.

I've scoured the news sites over here and the reports I have found are naturally biased in favour of the anti war protesters. As expected, there is only one small mention of your group. BBC

I had to come back early and take care of my dog. We went on one last camping trip to Lynville Gorge. I buried her at the base of the falls near our favorite site. Shitty fucking weekend.

10,000 losers vs 30,000 winners. Bet that was a site to see.
