The Moving Wall
For those who can not get to Washington DC this year, check to see if the Moving Wall is heading your way.
For the balance of 2005, the following is the schedule for the Moving Wall.
The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for almost twenty years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of "The Wall." He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.

** We had the Moving Wall here in Staten Island for Memorial Week in 2003. We were able to have a couple large funeral homes sponser it, even got some local resturants and delies to dontae burgers, soda, franks, salads etc and served food 24 x7 during the week for all. We are trying to get it back next year, we had a fantasic turnout, including schools which made it mandatory for kids to go and visit and learn about Vietnam and what the Wall meant. We had some bleachers set up for them.

Re: The Moving Wall
I haven't yet had the opportunity to see the original Vietnam Memorial, but I've seen the travelling memorial twice. It's extremely moving, and I can only imagine the value to those who served in Vietnam, but may not have the means to make it to DC to see the actual monument.
