Re: Tea - Iced or hot?
I believe she said "dip your biccies". Not sure what that means exactly, but I feel compelled to remind Natasha that this is a family forum, with minors lurking.
Also, let the record reflect that a number of real men responded to the poll, indicating that they like they're tea cold. I have to concur on the Long Island variety as well. Why didn't I think of that? |

Re: Tea - Iced or hot?
Natasha, do you like your MRE's yet? When I was on the Macedonia border with a few guys from a light armor brigade, we swapped MRE's. The Brits put a whole days worth into one box, our's are 1 meal per pouch. There was always 3 packets of tea and yes you guessed it biccies.

Re: Tea - Iced or hot?
^ Rusty, I quickly learned not to be fussy when you're hungry so yeah I love my MRE's!
And yes, tea is an essential component. We always carry a hexamine stove and enough brew while out on field exercises!Quote:

Natasha!!
Biscuites are a particular form of bread product that are cooked to a golden brown fluffyness and then broken open, slathered with butter and drowned in either redeye or pan gravey. Those things you dip in your tea are called cookies and are better when dipped in coffee anyway. -Mac |

Re: Tea - Iced or hot?
What's the matter Tasha? aint they feeding you there? I've seen your pics. You cant afford to go loosing any weight! You're dang near skin and bones already!
Here, I'll help just imagine: a large plate piled high with crispy fried chicken, heaps of chips fresh from the fry vat, real biscuites slathered with butter and drowned in pan gravey, mounds of fluffy mashed potatoes also with butter but instead of pan gravey they're covered with the sauce made from the drippings of the large standing rib roast in the center of the table...right next to the giant pot of New Orleans creole style seafood gumbo soup, which is right next to the large basket of New England style lobster boil, with large crabs, ears of corn, chunks of potato and the usual assortment of lobsters. And afterwards, a big ol' slice of blackforest chocolate cake, a whole pumkin pie and just to remind you of good ol' Brittania, a trifle. -Mac |

Re: Tea - Iced or hot?
Gumbo is a Creole dish that has many variations... it usually starts with a roux (oil and flour mixture) and a bunch of onions, celery, peppers, lots of spices... tabasco sauce, worstershire sauce, and garlic... then you add your meat... shrimp, chicken, sausage, turkey... sometimes a combination of all of the above... depending on who is making it, then stock/bullion/sometimes alcohol is added to make it a soup or stew like consistancy. a good way to get rid of leftovers... and depending on who makes it... its pretty good
