The Christmas holidays are almost here. For some, religion is the most important aspect of the holiday season, while for others it's an opportunity to catch up with family and friends, travel, shop etc. How will you be spending your Christmas? Are there any special traditions you follow? What does Christmas mean to you?
I voted the birth of Christ one and that's mostly true. But it's only true during my rational and stable moments.
In reality, Christmas mostly means that I'm solidly and neck deeply into my winter depression cycle. During these times I'm about as fun to be around as your average 300lbs man with intermittent explosive disorder and an appearant case of PMS by proxy while seeming to attempt a downward redefinition of the term "moody".
So, needless to say, my friends and family are pretty much Saints (with the capitol S intended) because they still let me come visit and hang out during all my nastieness..and usually even manage to convince me that they enjoyed my company..(which I know is untrue cause I've been annoying the hell, even out of my self)
Oh yeah, fruitcake. I loooove fruitcake.
So, in summation...Christmas is about the birth of Our Lord Jesus (yeah yeah, I know it's probably not the real birthdate but it's good enough for me) AND me acting like an ass when I visit f&f and fruitcake.
Celebrating Christs' birth is first and foremost, but my family is not (religious church going folk). So pretty much of my holiday is family get togethers, with friends coming over, and playing games .
Christmas is also one of the few times of year when it seems ok to expect the best of people and a portion of those people actually do try to aspire to better deeds.
