Re: Hegemony
he·gem·o·ny (h-jm-n, hj-mn)
n. pl. he·gem·o·nies The predominant influence, as of a state, region, or group, over another or others. Yes. The only other realistic option is isolationist suicide. When the enemy has the means to reach out and touch us in a multitude of catastrophic ways from the other side of the globe, isolationism is a fools' dream. -Mac |

Re: Hegemony
But is it more foolish than years of shitty foreign policy, then suprise when retaliation comes?
Oh, wait, I forgot that we suffered attacks on our soil because they were jealous of our freedom. Sure, just like there were WMD in Iraq. -"Tom Hanks" |

Re: Hegemony
I see you've been spending your time sucking at the propaganda spigot of the enemy lovers.
Sad to see good men get turned. -Mac |

Re: Hegemony
Even sadder to see a country full of intelligent individuals accept the actions of their government because of unconditional loyalty to party or ideals (please do not read 'morals') instead of adherence to our Consitution or good sense.
If you knew me better you would know that I love my country and it's citizens, but pray for change in the mindset of it's leaders and those who elected and will continue to elect them. -"Tom Hanks" |

Re: Hegemony
Actions speak louder than words Cole, I don't believe anyone in their right mind would ever question your patriotism!
Proof of your love of country and your fellow countrymen is the fact that you are about to go in to harm's way for the second time on behalf of all of us. All Americans are guaranteed the right of free speech, one of the many freedoms you fight to preserve for us. Those who serve, especially in turbulent times, are the "most honored" of America's citizens and you've more than "earned" the right to your opinions. Hold tight to our Constitution, and the ideals this great country was founded upon and as you prepare to deploy yet again; please know that you are in the good thoughts and prayers of the very vast majority. This New Yorker is proud of you Marine! -Pat |
